The Lanier Equestrian Association was founded in 2000 as a membership organization of individuals and farms in northeast Georgia.
Our mission is to create opportunities for riders and others interested in the sports of dressage, combined training, hunters and jumpers to learn and progress by participating in local horse shows, seminars, clinics and social events. We recognize on an annual basis the progress of our members, but our main focus is on education and any opportunities that promote it.
When the club was originally founded, few schooling show opportunities existed in this area and the need was felt to promote them. Now with a solid base of local shows established, the club is choosing to concentrate more on the clinic and social functions that are felt to be lacking. Therefore, until there is a future need, the LEA will not be conducting schooling shows or giving year end awards for the schooling show categories but rather putting more focus on offering learning opportunities and fun social events to support the local horse community. The LEA will continue to offer awards that recognize achievement in those areas.
The LEA also sponsors an annual horsemanship program where riders may study for and qualify to advance to higher levels of achievement. We seek to encourage the highest standards of sportsmanship and fair competition.
We hope you'll decide to become a member of the Lanier Equestrian Association. Members are on our regular e-mail list to receive information on upcoming fun shows, clinics and seminars as well as qualifying for Year End Awards for special achievemonents in education and riding skills.
