High Performance Scholarships

High Performance ScholarshipsEach year the LEA recognizes the top riders from our LEA shows and LEA affiliates. The scholarships are to be used for anything educational that the winner would like to use it for like clinics and lessons.

What a great time at the LEA 2016 banquet! There were lots of new faces, great food, generously donated prizes, and as always, a ton of awards. It is especially rewarding to see all the new young riders getting their start this past year.

We want to thank all those who volunteered this past year making these efforts possible. Without you there would be no way to keep these opportunities available to our members. Putting on the shows takes a lot of work and organization that is mostly volunteered. Competitors, please know that there were a lot of people behind the scenes contributing to your efforts on your show day. It is amazing what a love of horse sport can accomplish and the community that it builds!

We also want to thank those who helped with the banquet – the decorations, preparations, food, silent auction items (the proceeds go to offset banquet and general club expenses), and a special thanks to Mount Vernon Church for letting us use their wonderful venue. It was an amazing event!

Congratulations to all of our award winners and a special congratulation to our Volunteer of the Year, Susan Young. Susan not only plays an important part in securing our venue and helping with banquet details, she also organized and developed concessions for the LEAF shows as well as helping in every need that she could as we transitioned to a new show venue and developed a new series. It’s the proceeds of these shows that fund our Perpetual Awards of Excellence winner’s scholarships. Each winner is entitled to $100 that can be used for any educational purpose.

New for 2017 will be a Horseman’s Field Day. We are envisioning this as a fun symposium with info and demonstrations. If you have suggestions, we would love to hear them. Contact Dana Ferguson at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. please.
